About me

Hello, my name is Abi Crossan and I am a qualified therapist working in East London (I offer face-to-face sessions in Hackney).

I qualified with a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling - and my approach is Person-Centred.

The Person-Centred approach teaches the Core Conditions: Empathy, Congruence and Unconditional Positive Regard. I believe these conditions are vital in creating a therapeutic relationship that feels safe, effective and valuable.

I believe you are your own expert and that you have the answers to your own positive change - sometimes we just need help in finding answers and facilitating exploration.

I aim to offer a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space for you.

I have years of experience working with individuals in a therapeutic setting and offering both short and long term counselling. I have worked with individuals from various backgrounds and with various presenting issues such as Anxiety and Depression, Bereavement, low self-esteem, work related stress, relationship difficulties, trauma, gender identity and sexuality.

I have specialised knowledge and training in working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and presenting issues. I currently volunteer at an LGBT+ counselling charity providing one-to-one counselling support.

Please check my experience and qualifications page for further information on my training as well as the FAQ page for more information about the service I provide and other common questions.
